Change in Flu Vaccination Requirements for Volunteer Interviewers
Effective January 6th, 2017, all Volunteer Interviewers must have a flu vaccine 2 weeks in advance of entering a Care Home to conduct Resident interviews. This change in our protocol is the result of the number and severity of flu outbreaks this season. Only Volunteer Interviewers who have received a flu vaccination and who have self-reported through www.MyVolunteerPage.com will be permitted to sign up and conduct shifts in Care Homes during the Provincial Health Officer of BC’s declared flu season.
Some Care Home leaders may request proof of vaccination; in this case your Regional Engagement Leader will provide you with notice and you will be required to carry proof of your vaccination with you while you are on shift.
